Printing is an intersection where a great image can go forward and become even better, or make a turn and become mediocre or, even, downright horrible. Being an occassional photo contest judge & teacher I've seen many a good image ruined by poor post-production & printing techniques. While an image may look good on a computer screen, I don't believe that it is a good photograph until it looks good on paper.
I think my images look even better printed than they do on a computer screen. Over the years I've worked hard reading, experimenting, learning in order to achieve results that meet my high standards. The printing techniques I employ and the products I use bring the beautiful scenes that I see out in nature to the final product, the print.
My "standard" prints are output onto a 100% cotton mould made paper that is very similar to a watercolor paper using a professional inkjet printer capable of printing up to 24' wide. The prints are then allowed to air dry before spraying with a UV inhibitor to aid longevity. Prints are also available on a "Satin" paper with the look and feel of a "traditional" matte photo. Each print is signed and dated in pencil on the back of the print before shipping.
Canvas prints are now available. These prints have a "Satin" finish and are available stretched with either a gallery or museum wrap.
I am currently experimenting with a new paper product that is made of eco-friendly bamboo fibers and hope to have prints available soon. The notecards that are available are also printed on an eco-friendly paper that is made from 100% post consumer recyled paper.
